Aston Martin Vulcan Concept

The Vulcan is a low-slung, carbon fiber race car with more than 800-horsepower. It's just a concept now, but we can only hope they'll be crazy enough to make it!

The Vulcan dropped jaws when it was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, and in person in the big apple, it’s no less stunning. With an impossibly low, carbon fiber body and a massive spoiler, the Vulcan looks the part of a futuristic race car. The 7.0-liter V-12 pushing out 800-horsepower or more under the hood is no slouch either, making the Vulcan one of the fastest and most exclusive set of wheels at the show.

McLaren P1 GTR

The P1 GTR is one of the fastest cars in the world, so much so that it isn't street legal!

The P1 GTR is so fast and so exclusive, that it’s not street legal, and you’re only allowed to buy one if you already own a regular, road-going P1. With 986-horsepower from its twin-turbocharged V-8 and hybrid drivetrain, the P1 GTR is guaranteed to be one of the fastest cars around the race track this side of a Formula 1 racer.

Ford GT

The GT was one of the most exciting debuts of the auto show season, and may signal a return to racing on the world's biggest stage for the blue oval.

The drop-dead gorgeous GT has been on every car fan’s mind since it’s shocking debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and even months later in New York, it’s one of the show’s most incredible rides. With a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 making well over 600-horsepower (actual power figures are still unknown) and a largely carbon fiber and aluminum structure saving absurd amounts of weight, the GT is guaranteed to become one of the fastest cars money can buy.

Subaru WRX STi Rallycross

With 580-horsepower and a stripped-down chassis, the STi Rallycross can only be found around the Global Rallycross circuit, but it's one of the fastest cars on the floor of the NY Auto Show.

That’s right, one of the fastest cars on hand at the New York Auto Show is a four-door Subaru. While the standard STi is no slouch either, with 305-horsepower and all-wheel-drive, its rallycross-ready bigger brother is a stripped-down, race-ready monster. The 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer-four-cylinder puts out 580-horsepower, and the STi RX rockets to 60-mph in a staggering 2-seconds! Catch former skateboarder Bucky Lasek in the STi at the fast and fun Red Bull Global Rallycross NY later this year.

Acura NSX

The NSX may have been hampered by development issues, but with over 500-horsepower from its hybrid, all-wheel-drive powertrain, it's certainly no slouch.

It’s not hard to feel a bit bad for the NSX, with its development delays and the unfortunate timing of debuting shortly after the Ford GT in Detroit. But remember, this is a 500+ horsepower hybrid supercar with all-wheel-drive and massive amounts of computerized technology, not to mention a heritage that includes one of the best underdog performance car stories of all time. Who’s feeling bad now?

Toyota Camry Dragster

It may look like a regular Camry with the body down, but lurking under its unassuming exterior is an 850-horsepower supercharged V-8!

Don’t be fooled by the title, it’s true that this particular Toyota Camry is one of the fastest cars at the New York Auto Show. Making its debut last year at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, this 850-horsepower sleeper is barely discernable from a standard Camry with the body down, but raise it up, and you’ll see the Tundra-sourced 5.7-liter supercharged V-8 lurking right at the nose. If your goal is inconspicuous speed, look no further than this absurd dragster.

McLaren 570S

The 570S may not be the fastest McLaren, but it's guaranteed to be one of the fastest sports cars you can buy when it goes on sale next year.

The 570S may not be the fastest McLaren, but it’s guaranteed to be one of the fastest sports cars you can buy when it goes on sale next year.

The 570S may be the least expensive and least powerful McLaren at the show, but make no mistake, the 570S is one of the fastest sports cars you’ll soon be able to buy. With 570-horsepower from its twin-turbocharged V-8, the 570S should have heavyweights like the Porsche 911 Turbo, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Jaguar F-Type R on their guard.
